How’d we end up here?
I took a roundabout way to be a website copywriter, but I’ve been sitting at Tiny Tables since around the eighties so I guess it was meant to be..
Once Upon A Time…
There was an arts girlie who loved working with beautiful people (inside, AND out) and loved beautiful things. Life happened like whoosh and took her from fine arts to food to communications to government to consulting (WOW, right?).
Add three kids and five international moves plus lots of roadside eats on tiny plastic tables and…well…so much for any traditional “career path".
So…no cool title.
but what did 15 years of work & LIFE across time zones, cultures, and industries get her?
Being really good at absorbing new environments.
The ability to quickly get to work on anything, anywhere, with anyone.
A toolbelt of visual, organizational, technical, and marketing skills.
A get-it-done attitude sprinkled liberally, plentifully, with humor and storytelling —because if you can’t laugh when your SUV gets semi-stranded in the Tanzanian plains, or your family almost rides off into into the Jordanian sunset on camels gone rogue…you’ll just be sad.
Turns out, never quite finding the “right” track was the right path.
Here’s where the tables turned:
All that zig-zagging turned out to be Her superpower.
Also, no surprise, hey, it’s me, I’m Jessie,
and I’m the one-time art-girlie-turned-copywriter-at-the-table,
also recreational safari-seeker and camel-rider.
Because I’ve moved so many times, I understand how to pivot in any situation.
Because I’ve lived in so many different cultures, my empathy runs deep.
Because I’ve worn so many hats, I’ve built serious next-level communication chops.
Pair this all together with 15 years in communications & marketing PLUS a 4th-Grade Spelling Bee Runner-Up credential? I meaannnnnn….
Naturally, I’m going to be the BEST copywriter to work alongside founders for whom generic just doesn’t cut it and who exist to put out good things into the world.
And for the first time since art girlie time, I’m genuinely excited.
