Existential Career Crisis?
No, not yours. Mine. And it wasn’t for nuthin’.
Once Upon A Time…
There was an arts girlie who loved working with beautiful people (inside, AND out) who loved beautiful things. Life happened like whoosh and took her from fine arts to food to communications to government to consulting (WOW, right?).
Add three kids and five international moves…well…so much for any traditional “career path".
So…no cool title. but what did 15 years of work across time zones, cultures, and industries get her?
Being really good at a lot of things. Working anywhere, with anyone, often alone, tinkering away at the tiniest of tables in any given coffee shop corner.
But also, never quite fitting into a particular track. So while everyone else was zooming onward, upward with purpose and building their empire…she was feeling a little bit antsy, waiting for the right thing to strike her.
Like in all good tales, there’s a plot twist:
All that zig-zagging turned out to be Her superpower.
Also, no surprise, hey, it’s me, I’m Jessie,
and I’m the one-time art-girlie-turned-seasoned-woman-at-the-table.
Because I’ve moved so many times, I understand the flexibility needed to pivot in any situation.
Because I’ve lived in so many different cultures, my empathy runs deep.
Because I’ve worn so many hats, I’ve built next-level communication chops.
Pair this all together with a 4th-Grade Spelling Bee Award credential? I meaannnnnn….
Naturally, I’m going to be the BEST conversion-focused copywriter for no-woo wellness entrepreneurs
and other client-first service based businesses.
Naturally working intimately, authentically with other people who just don’t do generic.
And for the first time since art girlie time, I’m genuinely excited.
THE STORY CONTINUES
Here’s the cocktail napkin version:
Jessie Chien Bryson
Born to an tiger mom and a scientist dad from Taiwan, I happily bucked most conventional stereotypes when I pursued art in college, moved to NY without a real job, married a diplomat, did some yoga fairly hardcore, and eventually found my place working in freelance comms as a content and messaging specialist.
And now, I focus on creating good vibes online—A.K.A. creating authentically real, logically-structured website copy that speaks for busy wellness and other service-based entrepreneurs.
When I’m not going down content rabbitholes, I’m riding around Hanoi on my electric scooter, pawning my three kids off to play dates, creating community around food and drink, and researching my next fermentation project.

CORE VALUES
(I’ll show you mine if you show me yours…)
Worthy Partnerships
Like, really — I see you. And I want to give you a high five and cheer you on! I will match your energy, don’t you worry. But seriously, I pride myself in being a flexible, supportive colleague with a desire to see relationships grow…along with sales and numbers.
Learning Opportunities
Because different is good, and if you don’t know that by now reading all this copy, what are you still doing here?! Through my work, I’ve learned so much about what people want, and this curiosity is what still drives me forward. What I want? Is to grow this little business of mine (oh, you, too?)...so let’s help me help you!
Community and Goodwill
Are you a mission driven organization? Have you created something impactful for a group of people? Maybe this just means you are teaching mothers with straight hair how to care for their daughters’ curly hair…(ummm asking for a friend?) because that’s impactful, for SURE. Let me help you further communicate vision, connect with audiences, and increase impact, to whatever community you are serving.
Reliability and Structure
There’s something about living overseas for going-on 15 years that teaches so much about working with what you’ve got…which means building off a good base. Don’t flake on me, mkay? At the same time: You want to pivot? I’ll pivot. We’ll do it with style and grace.
